A silver pierced Post-Medieval milled 1/2 Real of Phillip V (1724 - 1746), dating to AD 1724 - 1746. Minted in Mexico. The coin has been pierced to the top right from the obverse side. Diameter: 15.51 mm Weight: 1.14 mm Die Axis: 12 The pierced hole could indicate a secondary use as a pendant, possibly suspension on a watch chain. A similar coin, which has been turned into a brooch can be seen on the database as KENT-E73D1B, Jo Ahmet has desribed the coin as being: minted by Mark "M" Manuel de la Pena and a Calico (1982, 256) type 200.

This is an irregularly shaped coin, manufactured from a bar of bullion that has be cut to weight and struck. The coin has also been heavily clipped and is quite worn in places. Fragment of a worn and clipped silver Spanish one real 'pillars and waves' type cob of Philip V (1700-1746), dated to the 1720s (possibly 1723) on the reverse. The mint letter and assayer letter, on either side of the 'I' in the top line of the reverse, are too worn to make out, but the coin would have been minted in Lima, Peru or Potosi, Bolivia or Mexico.
