A copper-alloy Roman radiate of Divus Nigrinian (AD 283-285), probably the son of Carinus, dating to the period c.AD 284-285 (Reece Period 14). CONSECRATIO reverse type depicting an Eagle standing facing, head left. Mint of Rome. As RIC V.2, p.203, no. 472.
Coins of Nigrinian are very rare in Britain, with just one example noted in the Gloucester hoard. This is the first verified example recorded through the PAS.
