An incomplete, silver post Medieval coin, likely a halfgroat or penny from the reign of Elizabeth I (AD 1558-1603). There is a portcullis mintmark, indicating that it was minted at the Tower of London in 1566. Part of the edge of the coin is missing from 11 o'clock to 12 o'clock, with a more significant triangular chip at 11 o'clock.
Obverse description: Crowned bust facing left.
Obverse inscription: E. D. [G.] [R]OSA. SI[N]E. SPIN[A].
Reverse description: Long cross fourchée over squared shield.
Reverse inscription: CIVI/TAS/LO[N]/DON.
Mintmark: Portcullis.
