An Iron Age silver unit of Verica, c. 10-40 AD. The obverse depicts a standing figure holding a 'lituus', or curved wand, in his right hand and a bunch of grapes in his left, with legend COMMIF with COM to the left of the figure and MIF to the right.The reverse depicts a laureate bust facing right, with the legend: VERI-CA facing outwards, with VERI behind and CA in front. Because of the narrow blank on which this coin was struck, much of the legends on both sides are missing half of the lettering. For similar examples, cf. ABC No. 1250; VA 533; BMC 1421-49; S 136.

A tarnished silver unit of Verica of the Atrebates, dating to the period AD 10-40. Struck on a dished flan. ABC 1250, VA 533, BMC 1421-49. Several of the same issue have been recorded on this database, mostly in the CCI catalogue detailing a possible hoard found in the 1970's in the Waltham St Lawrence area of Berkshire. Another two examples have been recorded from around the Ropely area of Hampshire. The distribution suggests a Calleva mint.
