A very worn Medieval silver long cross penny, continental imitation, of Gaucher of Chatillon dating to AD 1313-1322. Mayhew no. 237. (Wren 1995, pages 165-167). The coin is bend on the right hand side of the crowned bust.

A Medieval silver coin; a contemporary continental imitation of an Edwardian Penny dating from the late 13th or 14th century. See Meyhew number 377. This coin has also been recorded on the UKDFD database as number 28324. The record there notes that: "[The coin was] possibly struck at the Yves mint of Gaucher de Chatillon. Towards the end of the 13th century, sterlings of the Low Countries began to circulate widely (but unofficially) in England.
