A contemporary copy of a silver sceat of Series N, type 41b dating from about AD 715 - 720. The coin is possibly base silver or copper alloy with silver plating, missing in places. It is probably a contemporary imitation, as are most examples of Type N found North of Kent and the Thames area (Abramson, 2006, page 21). It has a diameter of 12mm and is 1.67mm thick. It weighs 0.96g.
