An early-medieval silver early penny or sceat of Secondary Phase Series N (Type 41b) dating to c. 710-20, minted in southern England (location unknown). Ref: Gannon 2013: 125-6, no. 588. Obverse: Two figures standing facing with a long cross between them. The figures appear to be swaddled in cloaks. Reverse: crouched animal, looking backwards, tail curved up over body and legs underneath. The body is outlined by a line of pellets.
