An early medieval silver sceat dating to c AD 710-740.  Obverse depicts a facing, radiate, Wodan head with rounded beard, cross either side, with pellet above (Series X, type 31, X100).  All within line border with border beaded below.  Reverse depicts an elegant monster in flight left, looking back, gaping jaws biting raised triple-forked tail, crest before, two pellets below head (these ornaments indicate die sequence).  Prominent member and clawed feet below.  Line border within beaded border.  Abramson (2006) pp 72 and 15, Series X type 31 X100.
