Early Medieval Coin: Complete struck of hammered silver penny of the Early Medieval period. The coin is a Northumbrian issue of the Viking invaders at the York mint for Cnut of Northumbria, minted c.895-902. The obverse has CVN NET TI arranged a small cross pattee & the reverse shows CNVT at the end of the limbs of a patriarchal cross and REX around.
