A copper-alloy Roman sestertius of an uncertain emperor, dating to the period AD 41 - 260. Uncertain reverse type depicting Minerva standing right, brandishing a javelin and holding a spear. Probably mint of Rome. The Minerva reverse type is commonly seen on contemporary copies of Roman asses of Claudius, which were mostly struck by the Roman army immediately after the invasion. However, this example appears to be a regular sestertius.
