A complete but corroded and worn Roman probable dupondius or as of uncertain ruler, of 1st-3rd century date. Unclear reverse type ans mint. The coin had been deliberately pierced with a drilled and countersunk hole c. 2 mm in diameter, c. 2 mm from one edge. This was possibly to allow the coin to be worn as a decoration or amulet. Similar examples on this database include IOW-340683 and SUR-5EDE09.
