A worn copper alloy Early Medieval coin; a phase II styca probably of Osbert (848 - 867), Group C, moneyer Eanwulf, probably dating from AD 848 - about AD 855. The central motifs ar damaged, but appear to be a simple cross (Pirie motif 1) on both faces. The coin is 12.6mm in diameter, 1.6mm thick and weighs 1.13g. Obverse: Kings name; [OSBERC]HT [R]EX Reverse: Moneyer's name; [E]ANVVLF.

A copper alloy Early Medieval coin; a Northumbrian penny or styca, possibly a irregular coin of Osberht dating from AD 848 - 867, moneyer probably Monne. It is 11.9mm in diameter and 1.2mm, thick. It weighs 1.06g. See North number 191 and compare DUR-397205. The central motif is a pellet surrounded by 7 pellets on the obverse, and a single pellet on the reverse. The legends are blundered.

The coin is 13mm diameter, 1.6mm thick and 0.71g. It is quite corroded, making some of the legend illegible.

The central obverse motif is Pirie motif 4*, and the reverse motif is Pirie motif 3. The coin is in very good condition, and is probably a regular issue. The coin is 12.8mm diameter, 1.55mm thick and 1.12g. Compare SWYOR-BEBFD2 and EMC number 2008.0248 for the obverse central motif, and EMC number 2001.0099 for the reverse legend.
