The coin is 13mm diameter, 1.6mm thick and 0.71g. It is quite corroded, making some of the legend illegible.

A copper alloy Early Medieval coin; a Phase II styca of Osbert (848 - 867), Group C, moneyer probably Eanwulf, probably dating from AD 848 - about 855. The central obverse motif is Pirie motif 4*, and the reverse motif is Pirie motif 3. The coin is in very good condition, and is probably a regular issue. The coin is 12.8mm diameter, 1.55mm thick and 1.12g. Compare SWYOR-BEBFD2 and EMC number 2008.0248 for the obverse central motif, and EMC number 2001.0099 for the reverse legend.
