A copper-alloy Roman as of Julia Mamaea (AD 221-235), possibly a cast contemporary copy (Limesfalsum), dating to the period AD 226 (Reece period 11). V[ES]TA reverse type depicting Vesta standing left holding Palladium and vertical sceptre, S-C in the field. Prototype of the mint of Rome. Cf. BMC, p. 152, no. 392; RIC IV, pt 2, p. 127, no. 709. Die axis is 12 o'clock. Weight is 6.97g, diameter is 22.9mm x 20.0mm, thickness is 3.0mm.
