A silver contemporary copy of a Roman denarius of Julia Paula dating to AD 219-220 (Reece period 10), VIRTVS AVG reverse type Virtus standing right holding vertical spear and shield. Obverse style of Mint of Rome. The reverse is not consistent with reverse types for Julia Paula, or in fact for an empress; it appears to be a reverse of Severus Alexander (cf. RIC IV, p. 84, no.182; AD 225). The coin could be mule, but more likely a contemporary copy, made c. AD 220-5.
