A silver Roman Denarius struck for Julia Maesa at the mint of Rome in the period AD 218-22 (Reece Period 10). SAECVLI FELICITAS, Felicitas standing left, holding long caduceus and sacrificing over lighted altar. The star in the field is not obvious but may well be on the left of the figure. Obverse is draped bust right. Reverse is As RIC IV, part 2, p. 50, no. 272. The coin gives the impression of plating or of being of noticably poor quality silver. Diameter 18.62mm, 1.95g.

A silver denarius of Julia Maesa. Mint is Rome, AD218-222, (Reece period 10). Reverse legend reads SAECVLI FELICITAS. Reverse shows Felicitas standing left, holding caduceus and sacrificing at altar. Probably Mint of Rome. See RIC IV, pt.1, p.50, no.271. The coin is unclear, but the obverse style does appear to be of Rome. Obverse shows draped bust right. Obverse legend reads (IVLIA MAESA AVG). Condition is fine, die axis is 6 o'clock, weight is 2.18g, diameter is 18.58mm.

A Roman coin; silver-plated copper alloy contemporary copy of a denarius of Julia Maesa (217-225 AD), dating from AD 218-222 or later (Reece Period 10), VESTA, Vesta standing left holding palladium and sceptre. It is 18.5mm in diameter and 2.2mm thick. It weighs 2.34gm. The coin has been pierced at 8o'clock on the obverse. RIC IV, pt 2, p. 50, cf. no. 276. The reverse shows Vesta. Compare YORYM-D7CE82 and LANCUM-03F033.
