Silver coin. Denarius of Septimius Severus (193-211) in very fine condition; only slight damage to edge of flan, which leaves both faces pristine. The reverse appears as RIC volume 4 part 1 no. 145(a) for the period 198-200 but the obverse legend is not coupled with this reverse. The finder kindly suggests a Mint of Rome issue of 200-201, probably citing Sear 2002 volume 2 page 469 no. 6387. Obverse description: Bust laureate right.
