The coin has suffered from deliberate damage in antiquity that has removed much of the obverse type, with mutliple diagonal grooves visible on the surface of the coin. RIC III, p. 418, no. 458. The coin is in fine condition with irregular corroded edges and an attractive dark brown patina. This coin is 28.76mm long, 25.80mm wide, 3.90mm thick, diameter 28.76mm and weighs 8.8g. Die axis: 6 o'clock. This coin was originally identified as a sestertius, but at 8.8g it is too light, so is probably an as.
