A corroded copper-alloy Roman as or dupondius, probably of Marcus Aurelius (AD 161-180) as caesar, dating to the period c.AD 153-155 (Reece period 7). Reverse type probably depicting Minerva standing left holding owl in right hand, vertical spear in left, at feet a shield. Mint of Rome. cf. RIC III, no. 1317; cf. BMC IV, p. 328, no. 1960, p. 332, nos. 1985-1986. If of this type, this coin is likely to be a Coin of British Association as noted by D. Walker at the Sacred Spring in Bath, Walker, 1988: pp. 295, 298, nos. 363-374.
