The reverse is unclear but may depict Salus standing left, feeding a snake and leaning on a column, struck at Rome in AD 153-4. cf BMC IV, p. 328, no. 1961. This is a very tentative identification (by the National Finds Adviser). Reece Period 7.

The coin would originally have been silver plated and a few traces of silver remain but the core material of the coin is copper alloy. The coin shows a bare headed Marcus Aurelius on the obverse and Honos standing holding a branch and cornucopiae on the reverse. Minted, c.145-147.
