A copper alloy Roman sestertius of the emperor Nerva (AD 96-98), Reece period 5, LIBERTAS PVBLICA S C reverse type depicting Libertas standing facing left holding her right arm out in front of her with a triangular object in her right hand which could be a pileus or brimless pointed felt cap. The obverse bears the head of the emperor facing right with a long neck, a strongly hooked nose and two ribbons streaming from behind his head. The edges of the coin have broken off so that the legends are missing and the coin is now a very irregular in shape. Cf. BMC Vol.III, p.20, pl.5, fig.8, …
