Silver coin of 2 Skillings (Danish) of Frederick III of Denmark (technically of the Danes, Norwegians, Vandals and Goths, - hence DAN NOR VAN GOT). Frederick III reigned between 1648-1670. Thanks are extended to Dr David Symons of Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery for his help with the identifcation of this coin.

The reverse shows crossed arrows with a crown above and 1 and OR flanking, with another, unclear, object below. It reads MONETA NOVA C[V PR]EA D[AL]AR[ENSIS MDCIL]VI. The last few letters show the date in Roman numerals, probably 1646, although it is no longer very clear. The reverse has been struck off-centre. Diam c.49mm, thickness 3.3mm, weight 45.08g. [sweden]
