The coin is very worn and displays two sub-parallel straightned folds suggesting it may have been repurposed as a love token.

A Post Medieval milled silver coin of Charles II (AD 1660 - 1685); a threepence dating from AD 1679. The coin is pierced with a large hole punched through the back of the King's neck, having a diameter of 2.7mm. Compare number 3386 on page 339 of Spink's Standard catalogue (2011). Measurements are; diameter 17.3mm, thickness 0.8mm and weight 12.44g. The perforation has a diameter of 2.7mm.

This coin was minted as part of Armstrong and Legge's Regal coinage between AD 1680 and AD 1684.

A damaged post-Medieval copper coin, an Irish St. Patricks farthing, issued under Charles II (AD 1645 - 1685), dating from AD 1674 - 1680. This token coinage was issued in Ireland, but little is known about them. After AD 1681, a large number were taken to New Jersey and allowed to circulate officially there. They also circulated in the Isle of Man. See Spink (2003) Coins of Scotland, Ireland and the Islands number 6569 - 6572 on page 165. It is 22.9mm in diameter and 1.8mm thick. It weighs 3.51gm.
