A complete silver Elizabethan sixpence from the reign of Elizabeth 1 (AD 1533-1603) dating from 1575. The obverse shows a crowned bust of Elizabeth 1, facing left, with an English rose to the right. The inscription is worn and indented but reads (ELI) ZABETH (D.G.) ANG (FR) ET (HIB) REGINA The reverse shows the English coat of arms, separated into quadrants by a long cross fourchee.
