The coin has been broken in two rather than being a deliberate cut half. Obverse, Worn bust of queen left with rose behind head. [ELIZABETH] D.G. ANG. [FRA. ET. HI REGINA]. Reverse, long cross fourchee over royal shield with only part of date remaining 1, [POSVI DEV AD] IVTOR[EM MEV'] The coin measures 22.3mm diameter, 11.5mm wide and 1.1mm thick. It weighs 1 gram.

A silver, Post Medieval coin, probably a penny of Elizabeth I, AD.1558-1603. Most of the detail has gone on the obverse. The reverse has a square shield on long cross fourchee. The coin is pierced above the shield by a single small circular hole, its relationship to the obverse design is uncertain. Obverse, Illegible, Reverse, Square top shield on long cross fourchee, [CIVI/TAS/LON/]D[ON] The coin measures 14.4mm diameter, 0.7mm thick and weighs 0.6 grams..
