A complete, pierced medieval silver shilling of Edward VI (AD 1547-1553) dating to the third period, 1551-3. I.m Tun. London mint. North (1991:123) no. 1937. In addition to a complete perforation, the coin has a small incomplete, piercing made on the obverse and visible on the reverse. The reverse has crossed etchings in two of the quarters as well as two almost parallel lines. On the obverse, an area of crossed lines can be seen next to the incomplete perforation and some fainter crosses are eteched elsewhere on the obverse.
