A pair of finds composed of a long cross penny and a decorative silver mount of probable Medieval date (AD 1344-1400).The finder suggests that the coin was found within the silver mount.
The coin is heavily clipped and abraded. Most probably a coin of Edward III spanning the Florin, Transition and Post-treaty coinage (AD 1344-1377). Long cross reverse with quatrefoil and pellet centrally and three pellets in each quadrant. York mint.
