Obverse description: Facing bust with tall bifoliate crown, possibly bare shouldered. Obverse inscription: [---]VS REX [---] Reverse description; Long cross, three pellets in each angle, legend lost to wear. Diameter: 15.7mm, Weight: 0.54gms

A silver Medieval coin; a penny of Edward III (AD 1327 - 1377), probably Pre-Treaty Series C dating from AD 1351 - 1352 with a reverse barred N. Mint of Durham. The coin is 16.6mm diameter, 0.7mm thick and 0.6g. See North (1991) Volume II, number 1150 on page 50. The coin is crumpled, and the obverse is almost illegible.
