A silver medieval long cross penny, possibly of Edward III (1327-1377 AD), possibly dating to the fourth coinage, pre-treaty-period (1351-1361). The coin has been clipped and is an oval shape, no legend remains. A small crack runs into the neck of the bust.

Obverse: +ED[WARDVS REX] (jumbled lettering), Crowned bust facing with a bifoliate crown. Reverse: CIVI/TAS/LOn/DOn, Long cross dividing the inscription with three pellets in each quadrant. Diameter: 16.3mm. Weight: 0.55g. DA=12:6. North, J.J. 1991. English Hammered Coinage, Volume II, Edward I to Charles II, 1272-1662. Spink & Son, London.
