A complete gold quarter noble of Edward III (1327-1377 AD), London Mint, of the Treaty period (1361-1369 AD). The coin is extremely well preserved, and the inscriptions on both side can be read. The obverse depicts a shield quartered with the coat of arms of England and France within a tressure of eight arches. The reverse depicts a Floriate crass with a fleur de lis at the end of each limn; in each angle there is a lion passant, guardant; all within a tressure of eight arches.
