An almost complete silver halfgroat of Edward III (AD 1327-1377). Fourth Coinage, Pre-Treaty Period. There are some small triangular nicks at around 3 o'clock on the obverse and a c. 3.25mm long tear on the obverse at 10 o'clock.
Obverse description: Crowned bust facing forward within a tressure of arches (lis on cusps, lis on breast).
Obverse inscription: EDWA[RDVS] REX ANGLI [Z] [FRAN]CI (unbarred N).
Reverse description: Long cross pattee with three pellets in each angle (reverse bar N)
