A silver Medieval coin; a penny of Edward III (AD 1327 - 1377), Post Treaty Coinage dating from AD 1369 - 1377, mint of York. See North Volume 2 (1991) number 1295 on page 59. The coin is clipped and about a fifth is missing. It is 16.8mm diameter, 0.8mm thick and 0.85g. There is a pellet in quatrefoil on the reverse, and a cross on the breast.
