York Archiepiscopal mint. AD 1352-1361. Diameter: 14.00mm, Thickness: 0.71mm, Weight: 0.6g. The coin is missing its outer flan due to clipping.

Incomplete silver long cross penny of Edward III (1327-1377), First Coinage (1327-1343), Class 15d (1327-43), issued from 1338 in Reading mint, crown with upright bifoliate side fleurs. The surviving letters on the obverse read +EDWAR and on the reverse read VIL/LAR/A but the scallop shell is in the last quarter which should read NGY in the legend, and not in the first quarter with VIL as noted by Withers (2006) on pages 19 and 42-43.
