An incomplete Medieval silver plated contemporary forgery of a groat of probably Edward III (1327-77) dating to c.1351-77.
A copper-alloy core is visible with traces of a green patina and the obverse appears to be of billon and is illegible. The reverse is slightly better quality silver and is marked as mint of London.
Diameter 26.5mm, thickness 0.8mm, weight 2g.

There are two edge splits caused by plough damage, one at 10 o'clock the other at 11 o'clock that cuts in then at 90 deg up to 12 o'clock, both edge folds around these splits have been worked back in to their 'struck state' positions.
