Reverse: long cross with three pellets in each quarter Outer legend ; POS/VIo DEVo /AD[IVT/OR]EMo/ Inner legend : CIVI/TAS/LON/DON (N.1175) Diameter 22.4mm and weight 1.8g.

An incomplete medieval silver penny, probably, of Edward III (r,1327-77) from the Durham mint. With just over half of the coin remaining the obverse has an extremely faint facing crowned bust with the partial legend NGL (at approx 10 o'clock) The reverse has a long cross, one arm of which has a crozier end, with three pellets in each quarter.

Leg.: '[EDW]ARDVS REX AN[GLIE]'. Rev.: Long cross dividing legend with three pellets in each quarter. Leg.: 'CIVI/TAS/L[ON/DON]'. Coin is heavily obscuring much of the detail some clipping has occurred between 10-2 o'clock. There is shadow of the reverse long cross on the obverse indicating a heavy die strike during the striking of the coin, possibly indicating the rev was the top die. Measurements: 19.23…
