A Medieval silver coin: a short cross penny of John (AD 1199 - 1216), Class 5c dating from AD 1207 - 1210. Struck by Adam at London. There is a chip at the base of the obverse, and the coin is slightly bent. See North Volume 1 (1994) page 221 number 971. The coin is 18.8mm diameter, 1.2mm thick and 1.37g.
