A silver siliqua. Uncertain emperor. Dating to c. 364 - 402 (Reece periods 19 to 21), probably VIRTVS ROMANORVM reverse type rather than VRBS ROMA (Roma seated holding spear and Victory on a globe) belonging to Reece period 21 (388-402) (see discussion of types and their development in Guest 2005: p.68-73). It was struck either at the mint of Trier or Mediolanum (Milan). The coin has been heavily clipped (clipping factor: CF4) removing all legends. Diameter: 11.83 mm Weight: 0.75 g Die axis: 12

A late Roman silver siliqua of which only the shape of the obverse bust remains. Reverse legend has been removed from the coin during the later shaping of this flan. Reverse shows Roma seated left holding Victory in extended right hand (VRBS ROMA type, c. AD 364-388). Obverse legend has been removed from the coin during the later shaping of this flan. Obverse shows the remains of a diademed bust right. The coin had a die axis of 6 o'clock. Maximum height is 13.7mm, maximum width is 8.8mm, thickness is 1.7mm and weight is 0.96g. Compare with CAM-EC24C6.

A Roman silver clipped siliqua of the House of Valentinian or Theodosius, dating to the period AD 364 to 420 (Reece period 20). Reverse type depicting seated Roma left holding Victory on globe and spear. Either VRBS ROMA or VIRTVS ROMANORVM. Mint illegible. They are first struck c. 364 AD and were thought to stay in use possibly as late as the early 5th century getting progressively more clipped. The siliqua has been carefully clipped around the emperors face on the obverse.

They are first struck c. 364 AD and were thought to stay in use possibly as late as the early 5th century getting progressively more clipped. It measures 12.2mm diameter x 0.7mm thick and weighs 0.7 grams.
