A 4th Century Roman coin that has been re-used by the Anglo-Saxons as a pendant. The date for its use as an Anglo-Saxon pendant is 410-650 The coin has been pierced at the base of the bust for suspension. These types of artefacts are found in migration period deposits such an example that was found in the grave 43 at Bucher’s Field, Lechlade (Boyle et al, 1998, 207).
