A fragment of a copper alloy Roman nummus, probably of Valentinian 364 - 375 AD. Reece Period 19. The obverse has the diademed draped bust right, with the reverse type GLORIA ROMANORVM showing the Emperor right dragging captive and holding labrum. The coin has much of the rim missing and has a mid-green/brown patina.

SECURITAS REIPUBLICAE Reverse type, depicting a victory advancing left with a wreath and palm branch. uncertain mint. The coin fabric has an unusual laminar structure visible on the surfaces but particularly in the cracks that have formed on the rim. This suggests it is a contemporary copy.
