An incomplete copper alloy nummus of Decentius (AD 351-353) dating to AD 352-353 (Reece Period 18). SALVS DD NN AVG ET CAES reverse type depicting a large Chi-Rho. Mint unclear. This coin has been deliberately cut with a minimum of one cut down coin being removed from the flan. Such examples were probably cut due to Constantius II banning large module coins in AD 354. The obverse exhibits an incised circle, 11.5mm in diameter. This suggests an intent to remove an additional cut down coin from the remaining flan. Diameter (max): 22.6mm. Weight: 2.77g.
