Copper alloy coin. Probably a silver washed radiate, probably a Late Roman issue of 260-275, Reece period 13. The flan is now of scyphate form, possibly from the testing of a plated coin, though this is an unusual feature for a Roman coin. The mass tends to point to a radiate rather than an earlier plated denarius. No clear detail is discernible on either side, though both retain small patches of white metal surface. Diameter: 18.5mm, Weight: 1.33gms.
