The design has been struck off centre so the face of the emperor appears at the edge of the flan. No legend characters are visible. The exact date of the coin is uncertain. The House of Theodosius (Theodosian II) dates from 388-402 AD (Reece periods 21). The reverse type appears to be a crude portrayal of victory walking left, holding a wreath in her extended right arm.
