Double-struck Roman copper-alloy nummus of Helena (AD 318-341) dating to the period AD 337-341 (Reece period 16). PAX PVBLICA reverse type depicting Pax standing left holding a branch and sceptre. Mint of Trier.
There are traces of two portraits on the obverse and a partially obscured figure of Pax on the reverse. The portraits are both right facing but are the opposite way up to each other. The top and back of one portrait has been struck over the other, leaving only the face of the first portrait. The first has decorative drapery over the shoulder.
