Copper alloy coin. A modified nummus of the House of Constantine (306-361), probably a Vow in wreath issue of 320-325, Reece period 16. The flan has been bent to concavo-convex form with the obverse as the concave side, an operation which was presumably deliberately accomplished using heat and a rounded former. The resultant little bowl could retain a few drops of liquid or a small volume of powder.
Obverse description: Bust laureate right.
Obverse inscription: DN CONSTAN TINVS[---]
Reverse description: Vow in wreath: possibly VOT / IS /XX
Diameter: 20.4mm, Weight: 2.98gms…
