Reverse depicts Roma, helmeted and draped, seating left on shield, holding a spear in the left hand and Victory in her extended right hand. The coin is very corroded and has lost much of its rim, only part of the obverse inscription can be seen and none of the reverse inscription. Possible matches are RIC III Commodus 369, 401c, and 445.

A cast copper alloy coin (limesfalsum), copying an as of Commodus (AD 180-192) (Reece Period 14), with an unclear reverse. It appears that the coin was produced from a flawed clay mould.
Limesfalsa ('Frontier Forgeries') were first identified on the Rhine and Danube Frontiers. An increasing number have been found in Britain and recorded with the PAS Database. Two pieces from the same mould, found in Hertfordshire, do suggest that they were also produced in Britain. It appears that many of these coins were actually produced in the AD 230s to …
