A silver Roman siliqua of Constantius II (AD 323-361), dating to the period c.AD 359-361 (Reece period 18). VOTIS/XXX/MVLTIS/XXXX reverse type depicting the legend within a wreath. Mint of Arles, mintmark PCON in exergue. Lightly clipped (clipping factor 1).
This coin was discovered in close proximity to SUSS-F74487, an unclipped silver siliqua of Jovian struck at Lyon. Given their close proximity, it is likely these two coins represent a dispersed coin hoard. A dispersed coin hoard, an addenda to 2013 T900 and 2014 T114. All are nummi of the emperor Magnentius (AD 350-3), first series with A behind the head, VICTORIAE DD NN AVG ET CAES reverse type depicting two Victories holding a wreath inscribed VOT / V / MVLT / X, no column. The obverse depicts a bare head right, draped and cuirassed. Dating to AD 350-3, Reece period 18.
