An incomplete Post Medieval copper alloy crotal bell, dating to c. AD 1500-1700. Part of the top of the suspension loop is missing due to an old break, with only the two lugs and part of the crossbar remaining. The upper and lower hemisphere of the bell is divided by a prominent rib. At either side of the suspension loop (about half way down the side of the upper hemisphere) is a sound hole which is 5mm in diameter, although one is smaller due to corrosion products obscuring the aperture. A complete Medieval copper alloy 'simple' bar mount, dating to c. AD 1250-1350. The find is rectangular in plan, and decorated on the surface with two parallel grooves to the long end, which have the reminas of a crimped design on the outer edges of the mount. The two rivets are still in situ and the shanks of the rivets, which are slightly angled towards each other,  can be seen on the reverse of the find. An incomplete Roman copper alloy strip brooch, dating to c. AD 40-50. Mackreth DURO type 5b. The brooch comprises the head, bow, and most of the catchplate. The pin is missing. The remainder of the brooch is formed of a single flat strip which splays out towards the rounded bottom. The strip was originally curved around at the top to form the head and hold the pin, but the head has straightened out slightly now, due to old damage. A fragment of Late Medieval Wessex coarseware ceramic rim, dating to c. AD 1200-1400. This fragment is sub rectangular in shape with a very narrow rim which is incomplete in some areas. The fabric is a cream colour and fairly smooth in texture. No obvious inclusions visible. Length: 22.9mm; width: 14.8mm; thickness: 5.5mm; weight: 1.75g This is a pale fired finer variant of Wessex Coarseware or a Late Medieval version of Verwood pottery (L. Mepham pers. comm)

A small Medieval ceramic body sherd, dating to c. AD 1000-1100. The find is a sub-triangular shape, pale orange colour in the inside and a lighter shade of orange on the outer body. It has a coarse, gritty fabric with many tiny flint inclusions and a possible iron stain on the inner surface, plus a small void on the outer surface. An incomplete Medieval ceramic handle dating to c. AD 1200-1300. The find appears to be the top part of a handle as there is a thumb indentation where it joins the vessel wall. The opposite end is lost due to an old break. The handle is made from a pale fired fabric, pale pink in colour with no visible inclusions. A cast and hand tooled copper alloy furniture fitting / escutcheon plate of late Post-Medieval date c. AD1625-1750. The plate is probably from a drawer from a chest or similar piece of furniture and is decorative in nature. The find is sub-rectangular in plan. It is decorated with incised circular and semi-circular designs, together with a V shape which has fluted edges along the inner lines of the V. Inside the V shape is minute cross hatching decoration. A copper-alloy Bronze Age to Medieval copper-alloy awl 1250 BC-AD 1500. The find consists of four straight sides, each one plain, and rectangular in section. Its midpoint is bulbous and the awl tapers inwards terminating in rounded points at each end. Plain copper alloy awls are hard to date precisely but examples of this form are thought to have been introduced in the Bronze Age and they have barely changed throughout the centuries. Length: 53.6mm width: 4.0mm weight: 4.40g Similar examples on the PAS database include: SF-5623C1, NARC-643B92.
