Description: A complete gold ring of probable early medieval date, c. fifth to eleventh century. The ring consists of a gold wire, circular in section, which has been formed into a loop, now bent out of shape. The wire tapers towards its terminal ends. Each terminal is secured to the other by twisting the end of the wire around the opposing section, with two loops on either side, forming a slip-knot.

An incomplete gold and glass finger ring of Roman date, c.AD 300-400.
The bezel of the ring consists of a thin oval shaped sheet of gold, which connects to the underside of the band. Set onto the sheet is an oval setting of blue-green glass, the surface of which has broken away, within an oval-shaped gold collar with rounded edges. Around the outer edge of the setting is an oval of twisted gold wire. The underside of the gold sheet, on the inner surface of the ring, is undecorated and has a few dents.

A fragment of a gold disc pendant with inlaid white shell and red stone, probably garnet, of Early Medieval date, c. mid-6th to 7th century. The pendant fragment is formed of a sheet of gold, semi-circular in plan but originally circular when complete. The rounded edge of the plate is intact, but the remaining edges terminate in uneven breaks where the fragment has separated from the remainder of the pendant.

A complete gold posy ring of Post-Medieval date, c.AD 1650 - 1750. The ring is circular in plan with a D-shaped section. The band is thin. The outer surface is undecorated. The interior surface of the ring is inscribed with lower case cursive text reading ‘Love is the bond of peace’. The inscription is heavily worn and a deep gouge obscures most of the word ‘bond’. There is no visible makers’ mark.

The ring is circular in plan with a thin rectangular section. At the apex of the ring the band widens into a flat sub-rectangular bezel, engraved with a cross-hatched grid of four cells across the width of the band by six cells along the length of the band, probably in a crude imitation of the clasped hands characteristic of ‘fede’ type finger rings. An incomplete silver cuff link of Post-Medieval date, circa AD 1662 - 1700.
Only one circular cuff link remains from a pair of cuff links, which would have been joined together via a chain loop. The surviving cuff link is formed from a circular, flat disc with a flared rim. The rim has become detached from the central disk where it would have bent back from the face and is distorted out of shape, but remains associated with the central disk.

A complete cast copper-alloy nail cleaner with moulded neck and shouldered blade of Eckardt, H. and Crummy, N. 2008, 121, fig. 59 (Group) and of Roman date, c.AD 43 - 200. The circular attachment loop is large.The blade is a pointed leaf- shape, tapering gently from rounded shoulders to a narrow forked terminal. The neck has four mouldings.
The metal has a mid-green patina and is worn. The nail cleaner is 39.4mm long, 11.7mm wide, 3.9mm thick, and weighs 2.2g.

Fragment of gilded copper-alloy object, probably a jewelled disc brooch, reconstructable to a minimum of 43mm diameter. The fragment is lunate or crescent-shaped, and represents just under half of the brooch. It has worn breaks along all edges, and all of the curved outer edge has been lost, but the shape is preserved.

The brooch has tubular crossbar wings with closed ends, although one end is fragmented, exposing the central axis bar fitted within the wings. An incomplete copper-alloy side-looped spearhead of Middle Bronze Age date, c. 1550 - 1125 BC. It fits into the Acton Park or Taunton phases. These phases correspond with Needham's Period 5 (c. 1500 - 1150 BC).
The spearhead has a leaf-shaped blade with a pronounced triangular cross-sectioned mid-rib on both faces, giving a lozenge shaped cross-section at the point. The edges of the blade are irregular and highly fragmentary due to corrosion. An incomplete copper alloy Bow and Fantail brooch of Roman date, c.AD 43-200. The head of the brooch comprises tubular wings which act as an integral double lug hinge mechanism through which an axis bar remains. Only one tubular wing remains intact, the other is fragmentary. The pin no longer remains. An integral attachment loop projects centrally from the upper edge of the head with a small central perforation which is mostly obscured by corrosion product. The head of the fastener is semi-circular in shape, formed of a C-shaped twin domed trumpet coil which meets and joins at the inner points of the trumpet terminals, forming a loop with an empty centre.
