A fragment of Medieval to Post-Medieval cast copper alloy pot leg dating to c. AD 1200 to 1650. The fragment is rectangular in plan and cross-section, with oblique old and worn breaks at both ends. The leg tapers slightly towards the top. On the front it has a pronounced central rib and flaring sides.The back is plain. The piece measures 24.3mm in length, to 28.4mm in thickness and 19.1mm in width. Cast copper alloy vessels were widely used from AD 1200 to 1700 for serving and cooking. A complete cast lead weight probably dating to c.AD 1100-1700. The weight is conical in shape with a rectangular tab at the top. The tab is almost half the length of the entire weight and has a hole pierced through it. From the tab, the weight curves downwards and widens towards the bottom ending in a circular base with a flaring rim. On profile, the weight assumes a bell shape. An incomplete Post-Medieval double loop sub-annular buckle dating to c. AD 1660-1720. The buckle consists of the frame only, with chape, pin and strap bar now missing. The buckle is oval in shape with bevelled edges. The frame is plain with a dark green patina. The central bar has been lost and only a knotch on one side can now be seen. Traces of iron corrosion around the knotch may suggest an iron-made pin. The reverse is undecorated. The buckle measures 3.1mm in length, 24.0mm in width, 2.4mm in thickness and weighs 4.48g. A cast lead circular probably weight of unknown date. The object is conical in shape, circular in plan and with a trapezoidal cross section. It has a flat plain bottom and gently sloping sides, one on which is longer than the other creating an oblique top surface. The top surface has a has cast raised border with a sub-central circular protrusion. The object measures 14.6mm to 12.5mm in height, 29.4 mm in diameter and weighs 83.12g. A complete cast copper alloy bell of possibly Roman date. The clapper could be missing or hidden by the soil filling. The bell is trapezoidal in shape with a sub-rectangular cross section. It has an integral suspension loop at the top. The semi-circular loop is pierced by a sub-circular hole, which presents with evidence of iron corrosion within. An incomplete post-medieval rowel spur dating to c. 17th century. The surviving fragment consists of the rear part of the spur with a portion of the sides, the neck and part of the rowel box. The terminals of the sides, the rest of the rowel box and the rowell itself are all missing. The sides are D-shaped in cross section.
