An incomplete Post-medieval cast copper alloy mount in the shape of an acorn. The front of the mount is slightly convex and the back concave. It has an elongated oval shape with a thinner 'nut' and a broader cup. It has a small projecting knop at the top, resempling a stem curving to the right. On the back there are two integral circular sectioned rivets, one near the top and one near the base. Of the upper spike only a stub remains due to an old and worn break.
